1. Multi-source verification
Every hotel covered on Hotel Decoded is verified against multiple independent sources:
- The property’s official 2026 information (rates, room sizes, amenities, recent renovations)
- Recent guest reviews from at least three third-party booking platforms (Booking.com, Hotels.com, TripAdvisor, brand-direct) cross-checked for consistency, within the past 6 months
- Hospitality industry coverage from trade publications, architecture press, and regional travel media when the property has a notable design, brand, or operations story
- On-the-ground reporting from regional correspondents and direct property visits where possible
2. Original editorial analysis
Every guide includes our independent assessment of fit, value, and trade-offs. We do not aggregate or republish other publishers’ content. Every review reflects our own editorial judgment grounded in the verification sources above.
3. AI-assisted, human-edited workflow
Hotel Decoded uses AI tools as part of our editorial workflow to assist with research synthesis, draft preparation, and language editing. Every published article is reviewed, fact-checked, and edited by a human editor before publication. AI is not used to generate fabricated reviews, guest experiences, or property data. All factual claims (rates, room counts, amenity details, renovation history) are verified against the third-party sources listed in Section 1 above.

4. No pay-to-play
We do not accept payment in exchange for positive coverage. Hotels mentioned in “Best of” lists are selected on editorial merit alone. Affiliate commissions never influence which hotels we recommend, how we rank them, or what we say about them.

Any post sponsored by a property or brand is clearly labeled “Sponsored” at the top, separate from our editorial reviews. Sponsored articles never appear in “Best of” lists or comparison guides.

Spotted an error or outdated information? Email editorial@hoteldecoded.com. We update the article and add a “Corrected on [date]” note where appropriate.
9. Source attribution
When our coverage references a specific external source (industry data, an interview, a press release, or a third-party publication) we cite it inline. We do not republish or translate other publishers’ work; all editorial analysis on Hotel Decoded is original.
